This is “Laetare Sunday”, the Fourth Sunday of Lent. The vestment worn for today’s celebration is rose colored as our mood is one of hope and rejoicing that Easter is near. In today’s Gospel, according to John, Jesus heals the man born blind and reveals Himself as the Son of Man.
As Lent comes to a conclusion, have we used the time in repentance only, or to renew God’s place in our lives? Have our eyes been opened to become disciples of God by sharing our Time, Talent and Treasure with others each and every day?
Great artists’ works come forth because of the need of the artist to give the gift within them. In contrast, the “Dead Sea” is a dead-end and has no outlet. It continually receives water, but never gives water.
May God help us, during this Lenten season, to see the person we are and the person that we can become. Each of us has a unique gift given by God to be shared with others.
May God’s Grace continue to surround us.
