Dear Parishioners,
On February 5th, our 2nd graders will attend our annual Blessing Cup Retreat. This is always such a wonderful experience for students and their families to be a part of. During this very important Sacramental year, the children hear a lot about forgiveness and respect and grace and love. We want them to be the best person they can be so, eventually, they are able to share those values with the world.
When Jesus talks about the salt and the light in Matthew 5:13-16, he wants the same things for his disciples. He says, “you are the salt of the earth”. “you are the light of the world”. As a disciple, it is not enough to have private, personal holiness but you must also bring public exposure to impact the world.
We, the followers who have heard Jesus’ way of righteousness, now must walk in that path. We all know the adage, “actions speak louder than words”. No matter how young or old, we are all worthy and useful. We are capable of being Christ like and living according to his teachings. Let’s accompany our words with good deeds. We all have something to offer.
So, ask yourself this week…. What are my intentions? Who can I help? Have I fulfilled what God expects of me? Remember, God considers you incredibly useful. Let’s show it!
In Peace,
