This weekend Gospel continues with an excerpt from Jesus’ final message to his disciples at the Last Supper. Jesus’ “Last Discourse” begins with Chapter 14 of John’s Gospel and continues through Chapter 17. These chapters are a wonderful way to summarize the essence of what Jesus wanted his disciples take to heart and activate in their own lives.
Throughout the Easter Season, the words “Love one another” (as I have loved you…), “Forgive one another” (not once but many times…), “Peace be with you” (My peace I give to you…not as the world gives peace). “Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid. I am with you…” These are only a few of the precious ‘last ‘ words from the Lord.
What a wonderful time of year: SPRING, a time of new life, new growth… to reflect on these words and sentiments in our own lives, and rediscover the relationship we have with Lord and with one another.
Let us make time to renew our spirit and receive the true Peace of the Risen Christ.
Happy Easter Season! Happy Spring!
