As we continue our Lenten journey, I would ask you to keep in mind my reflection on our discipleship as it is lived in the world. Specifically, are we asking, inviting and witnessing our faith to friends and family alike; in a way which invites them to rediscover their faith and just perhaps a place of honor in our parish community.
The essence of our worship experience is the Word of God and the Eucharist. They represent our personal encounter with the Divine. I would ask that in the season of Lent, we take this personal encounter very seriously. It is not simply a private matter of church attendance, but rather bringing the Grace of God from the banquet table, which we share in with our fellow parishioners, into our daily lives to be shared with all the people of God.
As I said on Sunday, I personally thank you for every effort of evangelization that you undertake. Those efforts are never in vain and often very challenging, but be strong my friends and know that every disciple before you, going back to the apostles, have met these challenges and succeeded in growing the Community of Christ.
God bless you in your efforts and many thanks for helping to grow our parish.
