Dear Parishioners,
In Luke’s Gospel today, we find the risen Christ going to great lengths to prove that He is in fact real and not a ghost, to His disciples. He tells them to touch the marks on His hands and eats a piece of broiled fish right in front of them to show his true existence. Jesus then goes on to explain that everything that happened to Him was fully in line with the fulfillment of the Law of Moses and in the prophets and psalms. And out of the Life, Death and Resurrection of Christ comes their mission to proclaim repentance to all the world.
But now it is up to us to continue this proclamation to the world. Can we do this? Can we walk with those who serve the poor and needy in the name of Christ? Can we walk with those who serve the outsiders who seek Christ? Jesus’ followers saw, touched and heard the Risen One. We see, hear and touch Christ today through the Sacraments, through shared witness and through service to others. In our daily lives we are called to touch the lives of all we meet with New Life from the Resurrected Christ because we are “Easter” people! Let us bring love, peace, forgiveness, and Easter joy to our families and those in need of God’s healing presence.![]()
