Congratulations to Class of 2018 Graduates NICHOLAS HENNESSY, Wayne Hills High and BRIELLE TOLLI, Wayne Valley High School who received the 2018 Our Lady of Consolation Youth Ministry Scholarships! They are both recognized for their dynamic leadership and willingness to give of their time and talent freely in the Youth Ministry Program throughout their high school years. They have made a significant contribution to the Our Lady of Consolation Church community as role models and confident leaders. Throughout their involvement at Our Lady of Consolation, they participated in Youth Group and became Peer Ministry Leaders. They completed a two-year Confirmation Program, attended many retreats, and became retreat team leaders.
NICHOLAS was our co-Director for the Antioch Retreat. He represented our parish, our Diocese, and the State of New Jersey at the National Catholic Youth Conference in Indianapolis in November. Each year Nick is a “runner” for our Tricky Tray, he helped set up for events, served the homeless a meal in Paterson, played in Sports Benefits, was a soldier in our Good Friday Passion Play, sold fundraisers after mass for good causes, and collected money at our “SOUPer” Bowl Sunday to benefit a local food pantry. Nick will be doing his Eagle Scout project at OLC to advance to the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout! He is a good student and has run cross country and track for 4 years. Nick will attend Stevens Institute and has dreams of becoming a mechanical engineer in the automotive industry.
BRIELLE, helped as a Religious Ed 3 rd Grade teacher for several years. She raked leaves for the needy family, collected money at our “SOUPer” Bowl Sunday to benefit a local food pantry, sold candy to benefit others, volunteered at a car wash for a good cause. Brielle once designed our Confirmation Program cover. Brielle’s leadership and service extend beyond our church and into her school community at Wayne Valley High School where she played soccer and bounced back from surgery to her leg following an injury. She also participated in SDA, ran track and did stats and was an NHS member. Brielle will attend the University of Hartford
