OLC Peer Ministry is a group of high school teens who are trained to be the role models and leaders of some parts of our Youth Ministry Program. Peer Ministers serve as team members for our Youth Retreats and as planners and leaders of our Youth Group. They are counted on to provide feedback about our program and to offer new ideas for improvement.
To become a Peer Minister, you are required to attend the “Lock-In” Peer Ministry Training Retreat. The purpose of this retreat (in addition to being fun) is to build confidence and learn communication skills, group dynamics and leadership skills in order to become Peer Leaders.
If you are currently an active member of our Youth Group, we invite you consider becoming a Peer Minister thereby changing your role from participant to leader at our youth activities. It is not a overly time consuming commitment and would be a great activity to put on college resumes and scholarship applications.
